U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that "very good" discussions have taken place over the past 24 hours regarding the termination of a conflict with Iran that has lasted over two months. Speaking during a White House event, President Trump asserted that Iran is highly motivated to reach a settlement. He noted that the recent conversations have been very positive and that there is a strong likelihood of reaching an agreement soon. During his remarks, Trump referenced the February 28 air strikes conducted by the United States and Israel, which he claimed caused significant damage in Iran. He warned that if the U.S. were to pull back now, it would take Iran at least 20 years to reconstruct the infrastructure lost in those attacks. These negotiations are reportedly aimed at de-escalating the ongoing tensions between the two nations, with President Trump indicating that the Iranian side appears receptive to finding a solution through diplomatic channels.
