    Nepal Rastra Bank Unveils Foreign Currency Exchange Rates for Wednesday

    The central bank of Nepal, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), has released its official foreign exchange updates for today, fixing the US Dollar selling rate at Rs 154.76 and the European Euro at Rs 179.82.

    Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has released the official foreign currency exchange rates for Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Under the freshly published schedule, the central bank has pegged the purchase rate of the US Dollar (USD) at Rs 154.16 and its corresponding selling rate at Rs 154.76. Meanwhile, major European currencies maintain strong baselines, with the European Euro (EUR) fixed at a buying rate of Rs 179.12 and a selling rate of Rs 179.82. The UK Pound Sterling (GBP) stands at Rs 206.66 for buying and Rs 207.46 for selling. The reference card also outlines the valuation of prominent Asia-Pacific and Gulf currencies. The Australian Dollar (AUD) is trading at Rs 109.74 (buy) and Rs 110.17 (sell), while the Chinese Yuan (CNY) has been evaluated at Rs 22.65 for purchase and Rs 22.74 for sale. Among competitive Gulf tenders, the Kuwaity Dinar (KWD) commands the highest premium, posting a buy rate of Rs 502.48 and a sell rate of Rs 504.43. The central bank noted that these institutional reference rates are subject to intra-day revisions based on shifting global market volatilities. Additionally, the NRB clarified that commercial banking institutions retail their retail forex products under independent spreads, meaning final market transaction rates may vary from the central bank's baseline indices.
