Jensen Huang, co-founder, president and CEO of NVIDIA, has provided US$10 million in assistance for victims of the devastating floods in Nepal. The contribution, equivalent to more than Rs. 1.5 billion, will be channeled through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to support relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction in disaster-affected areas. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle expressed gratitude to Huang for the significant contribution and said the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund had surpassed Rs. 10 billion in total contributions. Huang’s donation represents one of the largest individual contributions received for the disaster and highlights growing international solidarity with Nepal. NVIDIA is a global leader in graphics processing units and artificial intelligence technology, making the contribution particularly notable as support from the international technology community. The funds are expected to assist not only immediate relief operations but also longer-term reconstruction of damaged homes, roads, bridges and other critical infrastructure.
