Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle has asserted that the government is aggressively executing a "clean up the mess" campaign to dismantle entrenched networks of vested interest groups that have heavily influenced Nepal's political leadership and state organs over the past 10 to 15 years. Speaking at a public forum on Sunday, Dr. Wagle revealed that alarming facts are surfacing about how deeply these interest groups had captured state institutions in the past. To demonstrate the government's resolve, he disclosed that the largest financial scandal in the nation’s history—involving judicial claims for damages exceeding 1 kharba rupees—is currently undergoing active court proceedings, exposing a terrifying narrative of systemic manipulation. Concurrently, the Finance Minister emphasized a strategic shift toward economic optimism, stating that the administration is determined to reverse the prevailing narrative that forces the youth to seek opportunities abroad due to persistent institutional negativity. Addressing the younger generation directly, Dr. Wagle extended an open invitation to pitch immediate structural reforms outside the traditional constraints of the annual budget cycle, reaffirming that the government is operating under a clear five-year roadmap aimed at building a foundational legacy of good governance and shared economic prosperity.
