    NEPSE Slips 6.38 Points to 2,572.34; Trading Index Leads Sectoral Decline

    Nepal’s benchmark NEPSE index fell 6.38 points, or 0.24%, to close at 2,572.34, reversing the 11.96-point gain recorded in the previous session.

    The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) witnessed a moderate decline, with the benchmark index dropping 6.38 points (0.24%) to settle at 2,572.34. The index opened at 2,578.16 and moved between an intraday high of 2,579.10 and a low of 2,565.22 during the trading session. Total turnover stood at Rs. 3.74 Arba, with 10,300,688 shares changing hands across 359 listed companies through 39,466 transactions. The total market capitalization stood at Rs. 44.24 Kharba, while the float market capitalization was recorded at Rs. 15 Kharba. Ghalemdi Hydro Limited (GHL) topped the turnover chart with transactions worth Rs. 23.98 crores, while its share price closed at Rs. 294.90. GHL also emerged as the day's top gainer, advancing 5.11%. On the losing side, Global IME Sammunat Yojana-2 (GBIMESY2) recorded the highest decline, falling 5.26% to close at Rs. 9.00. Among the sectoral indices, the Banking SubIndex posted the highest gain of 0.11%, while the Trading Index recorded the steepest decline, falling 1.38%.
